I have now used some of the hard wood chippings, they are very good, the chickens really seem to like scratching at them and they are kept off the mud, and as we have had some very wet days recently it is very needed, will get some more when we need some as the price was better than what I brought before.

Have ordered a number of times from CPA. Their Chicken hardwood chips are the best! Unlike other companies the hardwood chips arrive fresh in bags, not mouldy because they have been sat in the wet. Delivery is great, named day and drivers are always very helpful and polite. A great company to do business with.

I had been looking for quality wood chip for my chickens for some time and in the past have bought products that have cheaper but very low quality. This is the first time using CPA Horticulture and i have been very impressed. From my first contact with the company to the final delivery nothing was too much trouble and the service was first class. The delivery only took a few days and was arranged around a time and date convenient with me. The quality of the wood chip is first class. I purchased the Chicken Hardwood chip and it is perfect for my chickens, transforming their run from a muddy mess to a dry area they can scratch around in. I chose delivery day and at 8.30 am it arrived , on a pallette and was put where i required it to be dropped . The driver rang beforehand to say he was on his way . The woodchip itself is very good quality. Half of the order (30 x 70l bags) has made a new path and half has topped up the chicken runs.
The delivery however was shambolic. Despite me being very clear that our lane is too narrow for anything other than a 7.5ton, the woodchip arrived in a huge vehicle which blocked the lane and meant both my husband and I had to stop work to help unload it using wheelbarrows while the driver stood around moaning! Eventually he managed to get the pallet off with the pallet truck. Not a good experience. I don’t know why you ask for delivery info when it’s going to be ignored.

This was my second purchase of wood chip for my chicken run and as last time the product was very good.
The driver went above and beyond to get it to me as the truck was too big to get down the Lane where I live so had to manoeuvre it on a pallet quite some distance over very rough terrain.
So I would have rated a five had they sent it on 7.5 ton wagon as requested other than that it’s excellent service and the best price of any other companies.

Excellent quality of wood chips for chicken run. By far the the best I've had, and I've ordered from several companies in the past. Largish dry chunks; no sign of sawdust and splinters that some other companies include. Only problem is that I ordered too much, not realising it came in 70L sacks (other companies delivered 50L sacks). Would definitely recommend.
